10/21/2009 - Kindergarten Classes to Kick Off Social Studies Project

Kindergarten Classes to Kick Off Social Studies Project
The Kindergarten classes are embarking on a year-long adventure with Pierre the Alligator! We have sent Pierre on a journey to a Kindergarten class in all 50 states, with the hope that each class will send him back with information about their state. This project will help the students learn about their own state as well as the rest of the country. We will keep a map in each classroom to document the journey of Pierre. Each student also will create a special folder to keep all of the information we collect throughout the year. We are looking forward to learning everything about Louisiana and the other 49 states of our country!
